Is it Possible to Maintain Privacy When Searching for a Job

If you’re currently unemployed, conventional wisdom would be to not search in private.  You want to let as many people as you can know that you are currently looking for a job.  On the flip side, if you don’t want everyone in your business or if you are still employed, you want to be as secretive as possible about your job search.

There are a million reasons for why one would keep their job searching activities under wraps.  With social media playing a bigger role in our lives, even if you’re trying to be cautious about your job search, little things can give you away.  According to The Ladders, 76% of job seekers they surveyed stated that “it’s impossible to maintain your privacy when searching for a job online.”  The very tools that can help you get a job, are the same tools that’ll blow your cover.
